Wandering Foods Productions is a culinary-focused events company. Our mission is to provide restaurant-quality food and drink that celebrate conviviality and a gusto for the good life. Each event, dining series, and party we attach our name to is a unique opportunity to provide an experience that is remarkably hospitable, engaging, memorable, and delicious.
Our aim is to provide curated experiences that maintain our creative license, and reflect our core values of seasonality, caring service, and cultural pride.
We've set out to breath some youth and life back into Jewish food, and we're excited to have you on board.
A common trope and complaint about Jewish food is that it's bland at best. We disagree. We believe that most things are inherently delicious, and we seek out what those are and how to prepare them best.
Just about everything we do with Wandering Foods is rooted in a reverence for technique. We believe classics are classic for a reason, and we think that knowing our roots and continually referencing them can shape the future in very thrilling ways. We are Nouveau Cuisine for the Jewish kitchen.
None of this would matter if we did not care first and foremost about you. Thank you for being here, thank you for letting us serve you and show you some delicious things. Ours is a passion for nurturing and sharing.
Jonathan started Wandering Foods as project to challenge himself as a cook, an entrepreneur, and a Jew. Raised in Chicagoland in a very observant community, Jonathan saw Judaism and Jewish culture as a given. It wasn't until going to college in Michigan, traveling in Europe and returning to Chicago did he realize that the Jewish culture he loved was in need of preservation. He hopes that the productions Wandering Foods puts on will inspire you, make you feel proud of who you are (whatever that may be), and that you leave full.
